Protect Your Assets with VIN CHIP: The Proven Security Solution for Over 25 Years
Caravan thefts peaked in 1990, leading to the development of the CRiS registration scheme. The National Caravan Council (NCC) and Metropolitan Police, worked together to significantly reduced theft rates.
Since 1998, VIN CHIP and CRiS with its RFID solutions have been the leading security and recovery system for leisure vehicles, and has now expanded its expertise to the agricultural, construction, and plant industries.

Secure Registration
Our state-of-the-art RFID chips can be read from a significant distance, of up to 30 metres, using advanced scanners. This long-range capability allows the police to quickly identify your asset without needing direct access, speeding up recovery and reducing potential damage.
Our security labels, made from tamper-evident materials commonly used in the aviation industry, offer visible protection and identification. These non-transferable labels act as a strong deterrent to potential thieves by making it clear that your asset is protected.
Our system utilises 4,000 micro-dots, each measuring 0.5mm and encrypted with a unique identifier, to provide dense and discreet asset marking. This covert technology ensures that even if visible markers are tampered with, your asset remains traceable and identifiable.
Our secure QR codes serve as a covert link to the Secure Asset Register, allowing for the discreet validation of your asset’s identity. These QR codes can be scanned using a mobile phone, offering an immediate and secure check to confirm the authenticity of the asset.
Our proprietary ISO 27001:2022 Information Security certified secure Registration Database is a robust and reliable system that records your asset’s unique identifier, such as its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or serial number. This ensures that the police and other authorities can verify ownership quickly, enhancing your asset’s protection.
Benefit from 24/7 support through our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certified contact centre. Our team is always ready to assist, providing consistent and high-quality customer service whenever you need it.
Our tamper-evident warning labels offer visible protection, indicating that the asset is securely marked and registered. These labels are non-transferable, providing additional security and acting as a deterrent to thieves.
Our VIN CHIP branded labels serve as a secondary warning label, further reinforcing the security of your asset. These labels provide an additional layer of visible deterrence against theft.
Our RFID chips, for construction machinery, are capable of being read from up to 30 metres (approximately 98 feet) using leading-edge scanners. This allows for quick and efficient asset identification without revealing the chip’s location.
VIN CHIP integrates both visible and covert markings to deter theft and reduce the likelihood of re-identification or cloning by criminals, protecting your asset effectively.
Each asset’s VIN or unique code is registered in our Secure Registration Database, enabling immediate verification by police and preventing the legitimisation of stolen items.
Our dedicated contact centre is available around the clock, offering continuous support and protection for your asset.

It is the ID process which is usually problematic for them. Heavy equipment isn’t like cars which are littered with traceable ID features, quite simply, if the chassis number and identifying features are removed, it is generally accepted that the machine will remain unidentifiable

Without proper identification of the machine, the case remains unsolved and sadly, this usually results in stolen machinery being handed back to the person from whom it was seized.

Sites provide a lucrative target for thieves and the impact of plant and tool theft on construction projects is vast, with a ripple effect. The repercussions of project delays and late completion results in disappointed clients, reduced profit margins and increased insurance premiums. Optimising security measures on sites is crucial

Whilst some plant theft remains opportunistic, there are reports of more organised professional criminals making a good living out of stealing plant items.

They are putting a lot of effort into identifying farm equipment fitted with GPS, watching those farms and even using drones to spot opportunities to return at night. They go to great lengths to get hold of kit, breaking through locked gates and buildings security systems to take GPS from machinery.
