VIN CHIP Strengthens Team: Martyn Leigh Joins as Police Liaison Manager

We are delighted to announce the newest addition to the VIN CHIP team, Martyn Leigh. Martyn, a former Detective Constable with Lancashire Constabulary, brings with him thirty years of extensive police experience, having expertly managed a wide range of complex, serious, and organised criminal investigations. 

During his distinguished career, Martyn has worked with several specialised and multi-agency departments, including the Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU), the Force Major Investigation Team (FMIT), and Targeted Crime and Surveillance. His deep expertise as a police accredited forensic vehicle examiner, particularly his nine years of investigative experience within the Organised Vehicle Crime Team, adds significant depth to our growing team. 

Martyn’s dedication and industry knowledge have earned him multiple awards, including two National International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) awards and a European IAATI award for his exceptional work in the theft, cloning, and recovery of construction and agricultural machinery. 

One of Martyn’s most cherished accolades is an IAATI award named in honour of his late father, Peter Leigh, who was also a Detective Constable and vehicle examiner specialising in plant theft and identification. This award holds special significance for Martyn, symbolising his family's proud legacy of service and excellence.
