We are thrilled to welcome Martyn Leigh to the growing and successful VIN CHIP team. Martyn was a Detective Constable with Lancashire Constabulary. Martyn brings his thirty years of extensive police experience to the team and has expertly handled a wide spectrum of complex, serious, and organised criminal investigations.

Throughout his distinguished career, Martyn has been attached to several specialised and multi-agency departments, including the Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU), Force Major Investigation Team (FMIT), Targeted Crime and Surveillance, Child Sexual and Child Criminal Exploitation, and the Human Trafficking Teams.

Martyn's strong skillset as a Police accredited forensic vehicle examiner, which includes nine years of investigative experience within the Organised Vehicle Crime Team, adds greater depth and experience to the VIN CHIP team.

His dedication and extensive industry knowledge have been recognised with two National International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) and one European IAATI award for his outstanding work in the theft, cloning, and recovery of construction and agricultural machinery.

A particularly cherished IAATI award was named after Martyn's late father, Peter Leigh, who was also a Detective Constable and vehicle examiner, specializing in plant theft and identification. This award holds great personal pride and value for Martyn and honours their family's legacy of service and excellence.

VIN CHIP’s Head of Development, Clive Harris MInstAEA, MFIEA, MIMI, Cert CII, said, “we are announcing Martyn’s joining VIN CHIP at the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) UK Conference as recognition of Peter Leigh’s legacy and I am excited to welcome Martyn to VIN CHIP. “
